"Really looking forward to seeing Boneshakers again - This was the best gig I've seen in a long while.

The intention was to see the first set, have a chat to the band, have a few sarnies then bog off. NO. iT WOULD OF BEEN RUDE when a band of this calibre were entertaining the crowd which swelled during the second half and were not aloud to go off until they played FOUR encores."

"The band started off to a packed pub with a absolutely fantastic rendition of "In Communicado", (Marillion) and ran into other great stuff you just dont hear, "Carry on my wayward son" (Kansas) and th long version of Focus's "Hocus Pocus" this tune really shows of Bobs vocal ability as he did the yodels note perfect and even did the long version of it. Included was a Floyd medley, some Foreigner, and finished with a great version of "Dont Stop believin" I know, overplayed last year but still a massive song to do live and done expertly. Really sorry I couldnt stay for the 2nd set but if you get chance, take some time out to see these guys, excellent musicians and a superb vocalist."

As we left the Wheatsheaf tonight ( Which looked like a scene straight out of a Hammer Horror Movie ) we thanked Boneshaker for a thoroughly entertaining night. bass and drums pumping through like the heartbeat of a steam train. Backing vocals to die for, lead guitar and keyboards second to none and a lead vocal that was just purely unbelievable...... What a show, What a venue and what a fantastic band. If you have not seen Boneshaker, you are letting the best in life pass you by..................

....''Boneshaker''. One of the best if not the best natural band around plus a vocalist who in my opinion is one of the best around......... They also tread where others fear to !

Boneshaker are definitely a band not to miss !!!!

Boneshaker were at the Wheatsheaf in Ashton Preston Friday night just gone. Classic rock of the AOR variety with a dash of prog. A 5 piece band with a Hammond organ and Leslie Cabinet..... Which after a few pints I could only describe as the swirly thing......... Some really high vocals which were full voice rather than falsetto .Songs from their set featured bands like Deep Purple, Journey ,Foreigner, Zeppelin amongst many others . The set featured lots of songs I've sung before on the WMC's NE and South Yorks circuit. I found it hard to believe these guys hadn't played those gigs? But after a conversation with the band that was the case. A beautifully tuned kit something I have to say I don't hear enough of these days it seems to be a lost art and the night was a good 'un.... Everyone doing their job well . A USP of the band? Probably their fun version of Hocus Pocus by focus, always a tounge in cheek song with the Hammond and higher than usual vocal range of the vocalist there are very few bands on the pub circuit who could have a stab at that one.

Thanks so much again for such a fantastic night last Friday, you guys were fantastic.  The feedback we have received has been really good, even had a few phone calls asking when you guys are next appearing!!

I was tempted by this band on recommendation and that they did a great cover of Hocus Pocus. Unfortunately I got in a bit late and missed that number, but was made up by a couple of Deep Purple numbers, Stormbringer and Highway Star that bring back quite a few memories of my wayward Colne days.

Its a very professional sound and set up and Bob has a great strong voice for the genre.

What sets this band apart is the use of a Hammond Organ combined with Leslie Speakers which gets you that rich traditional organ sound that you hear in many 60/70s numbers and its played with great style by Steve. I'll definitely be catching them again and this time I'll make sure I'm on time. Def Recommended but be early.
